Roughly akin to a British version of hit American show CSI, WAKING THE DEAD follows a police team as they try to use advances in modern technology to solve previously unsolvable cases. Superintendent Peter Boyd (Trevor Eve) heads up the Cold Case Squad as they examine scraps of evidence that may lead to an eventual arrest, and he is aided in his plight by Detective Constable Mel Silver (Claire Goose), Psychological Profiler Grace Foley (Sue Johnston), Detective Sergeant Spencer Jordan (Wil Johnson), Forensic Pathologist Frankie Wharton (Holly Aird), and Detective Constable Mel Silver (Claire Goose).
